In the Bago Yoma, 100 miles north of Yangon on the Ye New lake – the NGO Four Paws International developed a sanctuary to take in old working elephants and young orphaned elephants. The centre to be developed over 1000’s of acres has at its centre a visitors and information building, the management buildings and the carer’s accommodations.

Developed around a belvedere over-looking the elephant sanctuary compound, the buildings are designed for the tropical monsoon climate using naturally ventilation with Bamboo as structure roof and cladding.
